We’re the ones they told to stay back.
To quiet down.
To stop trying to be seen.
They said we were “doing too much.”
when all we were doing was being ourselves.
They call it “attention-seeking.”
but they don’t see the heart behind it
now we serve through spirit,
how our joy is a form of healing.
Even when we’re too alive, too bright
They side-eye it.
They don’t like that kind of light.
Because it reminds them of something they lost
freedom.
But we keep shining anyway.
We keep creating.
We keep loving out loud.
even when the world tries to mute our frequency.
We’re not chasing fame;
We’re chasing freedom.
We’re not performing;
We’re pouring.
And if we do get the attention,
we think we all that
but what they don’t see
is that every bit of this light was earned.
Every blessing was worked for.
We don’t take it lightly
We take it gratefully.
We don’t chase clout
We build from the ground up.
We work hard and earn it.
even if it takes us longer.
We’re independent—the real ones.
No backing, no big names,
no safety net—just ourselves.
